Remember a couple of years ago when everyone was ready to ship Mike Pelfrey to Siberia because he was off to a terrible start? Then everyone silently realized that the guy was learning on the job at the major league level? Then, as he figured it out he got a lot better and eventually wound up having an awesome season.
Yeah, let’s remember that for a minute. Murphy is learning how to play left field at the major league level. I can’t track softballs in rec league, so I’m not going to go off the deep end giving a guy crap about bad defense because he’s having trouble in the outfield. We get it Howie. He’s having a rough go at it. It’s April. Let’s everybody settle down. Manny’s still doing crap like that and he’s been in left field for 15 years.
How about we give the guy a couple of months to settle in to the position?
