Let me be the nine-millionth blogger to say that this Williewatch crap needs to end right now. The team (and, let’s be honest, the fans) can’t deal with this hanging over their head every day. Willie’s job can’t keep hinging on the outcome of a single series (or a single game) in a baseball season. If the Mets win the series against the Angels and follow that up with losing a series at Coors Field (a park they’ve been notoriously bad in) are we firing Willie?

The Mets are a PR nightmare. First with failing to, you know, seek the qualified opinion of a sports’ medicine expert in the Ryan Church situation and now failing to make a decision that needs to be made. I’m tired of reading about it. I’m tired of it being a story.

Besides, the Mets are 12-9-2 in series this season and just pitched the hell out a team that scores runs pretty much at-will. Stop with this already. Worry about things that need to be addressed like the bullpen’s 1.332 WHIP, 4.16 ERA, and 3.5 BB/9.
